Welcome back to TWB guys! Today's a Saturday which means that I get to spice up your tedious lives. I'm home alone right now drinking chai tea, so it's just the perfect atmosphere to write a new post. Apologies for last week. I couldn't post because my sister flew in from London so we were just spending some family time together, which I'm grateful for.
There's times in life where we feel like the days are too alike , so let's talk about that…
Some days can be uneventful as hell, and I just think to myself: “Is tomorrow going to be like this?” And that's just flipping depressing. Like those TV show filler episodes where nothing interesting happens.
You see, with me, the problem is that I can be too rigid, and repetitive with my schedule. I'm not the spontaneous type of person who just does random things at random times. I need to plan something to actually do it. It's a blessing and a curse. I probably do something spontaneous a couple of times a YEAR, I could literally count them on one hand. When I actually do something out of the blue, it turns out to be fun and rewarding.
My weekly schedule rarely varies, so the days become more predictable, and eventually boring. I'm still learning to look at my life from a different perspective so I don't bore myself to death. What I do to combat that repetitive feeling, is that I won't write my to-do list sometimes, just to feel like I'm less burdened. I feel like the downside of to-do lists aren't really talked about. They sort of restrict you in a way, because you can only do so much in ONE day. Sometimes it's a relief to just let go.
Recently, I started to view each day as a completely new one. I don't try to tie the days together as much. For instance, I have 7 years left of medicine insha'Allah (or God knows how long) so I can choose to look at them as SEVEN years, or I could view each year as a entirely new year. Perspective.
Another thing that I try to implement is trying something new once a week. You'll never become bored again. Also just try to have positive people around who have similar values as you, so that bonding with that person boosts you with optimism.
I got a couple of questions so feel free to answer them in the comments:
1- Are you spontaneous?
2- How do you make dull days less dull?
3- Does life get too repetitive sometimes and how do you combat that?
Weekly highlight: I turned 18 last week!
See ya next Saturday on TWB (if you're on your best behaviour). Spread the message far and wide!
What's your weekly highlight?
1- Are you spontaneous?
Very very spontaneous and I want to change it so I can have a balance between discipline and excitement.
2- How do you make dull days less dull?
Try to change my perception and my perspective and look at it from a different angle.
3- Does life get too repetitive sometimes and how do you combat that?
I honestly change my daily activities and do them at different times at the day to feel a bit of change and allow myself to talk to a stranger or do anything new to spice up the day.
